　“牡羊座”是白羊座的另一个版本的译名，也就是说牡羊座就是白羊座，这两个词在很多时候都指的是十二星座中的“Arise”，由于翻译版本不一，所以也造就了现在这两个译名同时存在的情况。

　那么这两个译名谁更好呢？如果把“好”理解为受关注度的话，那么白羊座无疑是更好的，现在绝大部分的星座相关的知识都把“Arise”译为白羊座，所以在大众中接受度非常高。但是白羊座的译法并不是很准确，“牡羊座”才是“Arise”的精准翻译。

　“Arise”是拉丁文，翻译为英文也就是“The Ram”，就是公羊的意思，翻译为“白羊”，范围扩大了一半，而原本的“牡”是雄兽的意思，直译为公羊的话，似乎有点不雅，所以精准又具备一定文学色彩的“牡羊座“其实是最合适的。
