七夕节国外的叫法有好几种，有按照西方情人节的叫法翻译的，也有按照具体的日期翻译的，甚至还有直接音译的。

具体主要有以下几种叫法：

1、Chinese Valentine's Day，

西方情人节叫做Valentine's Day，为公历2月14日，而七夕节被称为中国的情人节，所以翻译上也就按照西方情人节的名称来命名了。

2、Double Seventh Day或者the Seventh Day of the Seventh Lunar Month，

七夕的日期是每年的农历七月初七，两个七的组合或者是七月七日的翻译就是这个叫法的来源。

3、Magpie Festival

magpie有“喜鹊”的意思，而七夕节的传说当中，这一天牛郎织女是要在鹊桥上相会的。鹊桥是无数的喜鹊在银河上搭起来的桥，七夕节被叫做喜鹊节其实不怎么准确。

4、Qixi Festival

直接音译，七夕两个字的拼音代表，根本不需要翻译。这种直译的方式不太常见，但是偶尔也会有。

除了中国之外，日本、韩国都是过七夕节的。

 日本七夕：Tanabata

这个词也是七夕的意思，但指的是日本的七夕节。

日本的七夕节起源于咱们中国的七夕，七夕是中国的情人节，可是在日本，却和情人节沾不上什么边。和日本新年一样，七夕可以许愿，把心愿写在纸条上，然后挂在树上。

韩国七夕：Chilseok

韩国也过七夕，英文是：Chilseok，英文解释是：A Korean traditional festival which falls on the seventh day of the seventh month of the Korean lunisolar calendar。

意思就是阴阳节，韩国七月初七的一个传统节日。

七夕节最常用的英语叫法还是Chinese Valentine's Day，也就是中国情人节。这个叫法更加让人容易理解，尤其是面对西方人的时候，他们一下子就能明白这个节日的意义了。

这个就像周总理把梁山伯与祝英台翻译成中国的罗密欧与朱丽叶一样，是个很好的译法。

翻译笔记：

金风玉露

金风玉露其实就是指代秋天，大家可能不赞同许渊冲先生这里的直 译：golden wind，dew of jades，但是某蕉有看过更扯的翻译：celestial winds and dews，还有什么heavenly dew for gods to drink——这个~发挥得太过了吧。许渊冲先生这里一句When Autumn’s Golden wind embraces Dew of Jades，就从字面来看，也还是很有意境很优美的。

忍顾鹊桥归路

某 蕉赞同这里没有直接写出magpie bridge，鹊桥——在我们的语境中，“鹊桥”是个很有诗意的画面，而且又和七夕的传说联系在一起，但是文化差异的原因，magpie在英语中并没有什 么美好的象征意义，而且老外对七夕的传说基本上也没什么深刻印象，哪怕对此有所了解，也未必就能对“鹊桥”这个词产生审美和诗意的联想。所以许渊冲先生在 这里将“鹊桥”虚化成了homeward way：回家的路。其实这里这句“忍顾鹊桥归路”也翻译得相当简单：Can they bear a separate homeward way 如何能忍受独自归家？就是这个意思。也许homeward这个词有点难想到吧，本身不难的一个词，但是我们也不常用：homeward way=回家之路。

两情若是久长时，又岂在朝朝暮暮

If love between both sides can last for aye，

Why need they stay together night and day

点睛之笔。其实原句不难，也就是说，如果我们要用英文表达出这个意思，是不难的。这里先不谈整首诗的翻译，如果是在谋和引言中出现这两句，我们自己是可以用简单一点的语言表达出意思，当然如果这里能记住许渊冲先生的译本，以后留作备用是啦。

这里last for aye中，aye意为“永远”，古英语，这里用看上去比forever要典雅。除此之外，两句译文也够简单了。七夕节啊，拿这两句英文去骗骗人吧。写在送出去的卡片上，效果一流！
