《请回答，1988》之所以能这么感人，就是因为这部剧能够前一秒让你感动落泪，后一秒就能够让你捧腹大笑。还有台词生动感人，经典的羊叫，总是恰到好处地出现，插曲也很好听。细节满分，通过一个又一个小细节，前后对应，将每个人物形象表达的特别完整，所以说这部剧每个人都是主角。这部剧并没有通过强烈的剧情冲突，也不是什么大事情，只是通过邻里之间的亲情，以及小伙伴们共同成长的友情，长大之后的爱情，通过这些细小事件的记录，让人能感受细水长流的温情，暖心的温情，足以打动人心。
这部剧真的是笑点多多，也是泪点多多。比如因为宝拉和爸爸平时不亲近。不知道爸爸的鞋码，也也不好意思去问，就买大了一码的鞋子，贴心的二女儿德善发现了爸爸穿的鞋子太大，就往爸爸的鞋子后面塞了一团纸。当宝拉给父母行跪拜礼时看见了鞋子，不禁泪如雨下，宝拉爸爸发现了，就把鞋子往后隐藏。之后宝拉和爸爸二人互留书信表达各自对彼此的关心。结婚的场景，宝拉在车上看爸爸给自己写信的时候，我想这个情景在现实生活中也会出现，所以能让人产生共鸣，为之落泪。其次还有善宇的姥姥来看善宇的妈妈，临走前偷偷的地在房间内藏下给自己女儿的钱，让自己的女儿买点好吃的和好穿的，不要再穿破洞的袜子。当善宇的妈妈发现这些钱后，给自己的妈妈打电话，在电话里哭着哽咽着叫妈妈的时候，台词说起了这样一段话“神无法无处不在，所以创造了妈妈。”也许每个人看到此处都会跟着流泪吧！这就是这部剧的神奇所在，在细节上特别能触动人，让人为之动容。
每个小女生都如同德善一样，会喜欢上邻家的男孩儿。对爱情懵懵懂懂，因为闺蜜说男孩儿有可能喜欢自己，就会有些被动地发现，是不是自己也会喜欢他。不敢太去主动表白，恰巧碰上了也不敢太主动的正焕，以至于彼此喜欢的两个人生生错过了，有些可惜，也许这就是成长。每一帮小朋友里面都会有一个人如同智者一般的存在，这个人就是娃娃鱼，。他帮正焕明白了妈妈为什么不开心，教导德善应该主动去爱别人，不应该总是等着别人来爱自己。这帮青梅竹马的小朋友在一起，有很多让人捧腹大笑，又让人感动的瞬间，可以一起吃拉面，一起一起看电视，一起过生日。这些细节化的小事，能让观众产生代入感，觉得就是发生在自己身上的事情。
